Why I Can Appreciate a National Day of Prayer

1 Comment Home

Regent University - national day of prayerMay 1, 2014 was set aside as a National Day of Prayer. Many people throughout the country took time out to specifically pray for numerous personal, social, spiritual, and political issues on a local, regional, and global level. This day of prayer came right at the close of another scholastic year, and just two days before many of my fellow students received their various and well-earned degrees of higher learning. But seeing photos and hearing stories from this year’s crop of students studying in Los Angeles, it feels like only yesterday I was walking those Miracle Mile streets, sitting in that L.A. Film Studies Center class, and dreaming those big Hollywood dreams.

This year, several students are sending us posts from the trenches at the 2014 Hollywood Experience. Our first blogger is SCA alumna Alicia LeBlanc (’11), MFA in Script & Screenwriting. Read more

Regent University - Divinity BuildingMay. That lovely month where college students all across the nation make their way home. The hassle of packing, finishing finals, and traveling are all a part of the university experience and home becomes that light at the end of the tunnel for many of us. For the past two years, I have made the trek from Regent University all the way back to my hometown of Valdez, Alaska, for the summer break. My excitement is focused on seeing my family again, so the journey goes by fairly quickly now. Read more
